Dr. Ben Carson's famous speech

This is the speech by Dr. Ben Carson that prompted people to push him to run for President. While he won't be our next president, that step of faith gave him a great platform to continue to speak up for our freedoms, for education, for religious liberties, and unification of our country, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!

Don't Lose Hope, America!

Today's blog is just a friendly reminder, America, not to lose hope for our country.  There are still godly men and women in this nation who care about God, who train their children to walk in godliness, who pray with their families, and respect Almighty God.  There are still children and teens who value godly living and moral standards, and don't meet the low expectations put on them by society, but rather rise above it and thrive in excellence of spirit.  There are still men who would lay down their lives to save another, and women who would tackle a bear to protect her children.  How do I know this?  I go to church every week with them.  I am friends on Facebook with them.  I have served tirelessly for years with them.  I am one of them.  America, this nation still contains men and women, boys and girls who cherish their Creator, who obey Him every day, and do not compromise with the world in matters of sin and wickedness.

God will bless America for these people, but there will come a day when the time clock will run out and He will take them out of America, out of this world, and will rapture the church.  Those who are left will enter the tribulation, which will last 7 years.  I believe there will be chaos preceding the rapture because people will be hungry for peace.  The antichrist will rise and bring "peace" to this earth for 3 1/2 years, but the definition of that peace is in a military context, controlled by strong government.  Most of those who become a Christian during that time will die a martyr's death, and those who don't will be hiding from the government.  Those who rejected Jesus Christ before the tribulation will be blinded to the truth during the tribulation.  After 3 1/2 years judgment will come, and will be the worst time in this world's history.  Now is the time to become a Christian, to be saved not only from your sin, but from certain judgment of God to come.  To find out how to be saved, go to my website at www.dawnfoss.tateauthor.com, and click on "Plan of Salvation."

Christians, don't lose hope.  Stand up for what is right, keep fighting the fight, and keeping the faith.  There are MANY around this country, as well as throughout the world, who are doing just that.  We are NOT ALONE - there are many.  Remember, Elijah thought he was all alone, that no one else was left who stayed true to God.  God reassured him in 1 Kings 19:18: "Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him."

Be encouraged, and tell others about Jesus Christ.  Go into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, so God's house will be full for that great wedding feast of the Lamb, His Son Jesus Christ.

I hope you enjoy this music video of a song I wrote last year for our nation.  It was recorded at Oklahoma's State Capitol, the Heartland of America.  Let's not allow America to ever be a country without a man or woman, boy or girl who will stand for morality and righteousness.  Just like we would never want to be a man without a country, such as a traitor would be, we don't want America and what she stands for to be forsaken, those ideals lost in today's chaos and sin that is all around us.  Let's shine as lights in this world!

Philippians 2:12-16: "Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.  Do all things without murmurings and disputings: that ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain. "

Psalm 33:12: "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord."
God Bless America!

College of Pediatricians stand about Transgender Confusion

This is a great article about the College of Pediatricians view of Transgender Ideology's effects on children.  I will let the article speak for itself.  I fully agree with their concerns, and am glad to see that they are bringing to light the effects this confusion has on children.  "The statement points out that such gender confusion should be treated as a psychological disorder called 'gender dysphoria' and is 'a recognized mental disorder in the most recent edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association (DSM-V).'"

Love the Truth song

May we love truth and despise lies, hypocrisy and deceit.  I wrote this song based on 2 Thessalonians.  It says in 2 Thessalonians 2:8-10: "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved."

Let's not be victims of deceit, but love truth, find truth, and stand firmly upon it.  2 Thessalonians 2:14-15: "Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle."

Jesus, the Great Unifier

I find Jesus to be a great unifier. Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 10:12: "For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him." 2 Peter 3:9: "The Lord is...not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Hey, we are ALL in the same boat, regardless of race, religion, social class, gender, etc. We can celebrate this, and share another common wonder: ONE SAVIOR, Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12: "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." Racism was created by men to think they are better than another, but we are ALL wretched sinners in need of a Savior.

A Song for You!

For those who follow my blog, I thought I would give you a song, one that blesses my heart when I hear it.  I wrote this while at the Women's Health Conference in Middletown last year.  My husband had lost his job, and my life felt unsettled.  One thing that comforted me was knowing that God is in control and loves me all the time.  I wanted to praise Him in the bad times, and not only the good times.  There are plenty of both in this life, but my praise to God will not waver.  This song is called, "Praise Be To God."

What Value does the Law of the Bible have?

We're in the "Age of Grace", so sometimes people will think the Law has no value.  We can pretty much do what we want, and we'll be forgiven.  God forbid!  Forgiveness is not a license to sin, and sin still has consequences and can damage relationships, including our relationship with God.  And while we have salvation by faith through grace, the law in the Bible still has value because that is what shows us our need for a Savior in the first place.  You have to know you're lost before you will seek getting on the right path.  Otherwise you think you already are on the right path!  And before the Holy Spirit quickens us, we're dead spiritually so we don't even know we need life (Eph. 2:1: "And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins).  It's not us grabbing for the life preserver, but the Holy Spirit breathing conviction and truth into us so we can be aware we need to grab on.

My Pastor, Dr. Chris Atkinson, preached a great message at Meriden Hills Baptist Church www.meridenhillsbaptist.org this past Sunday, and I wanted to share a few thoughts that really stood out to me.

One thought made a lot of sense to me.  "To the ugly man every mirror is an enemy.  The problem is not with the mirror, but with the man."  The law of God is likened unto a mirror.  If we don't look in the mirror, we don't have the knowledge to know if anything is wrong with our appearance.  So it's true that if we don't look at the law of God, we have no idea we are doing wrong.  Romans 7:7: "What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet."

It is our teacher, and that is a good thing.  Galatians 3:24: "Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith."  People who have the attitude (and we all battle this at times, including me!), "Don't tell me what to do!" or "That might be fine for you, but I'll do what I want, thank you very much" have a rebellion in them, and are unwilling to take an honest look at their hearts and souls and see if anything is amiss.  We have to soften ourselves, even as Christians, to be open to the truth and ask the Holy Spirit to help us forsake rotten sin and cling to the delicious fruits of the Spirit, like love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance.  "Against such there is no law" (Gal. 5:22-23).

We should take instruction, and love righteousness, or things that are right and good.  We each have a contaminated heart that loves things that are not good for us.  When we become a Christian, we have the new nature (good) and still have our old nature (bad), and these war against each other. It's like having two alpha male dogs inside of us, each battling for power.  Which one will win?  The one you feed the most.  If you starve the old nature and not give into its lusts and desires, and instead feed the good nature by watching good movies, playing good games, eating healthy, avoiding harmful substances, going to church, reading the Bible, praying, etc. then the good nature will win and you will be at spiritual peace.

I think about this with losing weight.  I have a real rebellion in my heart against anyone telling me what to eat or how to exercise.  But I do know how to do right in this area; I just don't always do it.  I want to do right, but sometimes feel like the things I want to do I don't do, and the things I don't want to do I do.  It sounds just like what the Apostle Paul said in Romans 7:15: "For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I."

We are all born with a sin nature. Romans 7:16-21:
16 "If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me."

But don't despair!  While sin deceives, defiles, and destroys you (Rom. 7:11: "For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me."), when we turn to Christ and receive the Holy Spirit, we will be guided into truth and convicted when we are doing wrong (John 16:13: "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth:").

It is our choice which nature we feed. Until we become a Christian, we only have the old sinful nature, so this battle does not exist.  If you don't feel guilty or wrong when you do wrong according to the standard of the Word of God, then you are not saved, you are not a Christian, and your father is still the Devil.  Only when you trust Jesus Christ as your Savior by praying and asking Him to save you from your sin does your family change, and you are adopted into God's family, and now God the Father is your heavenly father.  Until then, you do not belong to Him.

It's interesting how natural gas has no odor or color.  It is difficult to detect a leak, but if a leak is present and a spark occurs, even with just turning on a light switch, it can lead to a deadly explosion.  Now they are required to put a foul odor like rotten eggs in the gas so we can detect a leak.  So it is without the Holy Spirit and the law (the Word of God); we would have no idea that we are sinning except it is revealed to us.

So rather than rebel against the law or detest it, we should be thankful that it is there to show us where we fall short of perfection so we can clean ourselves up as Christians (and get saved if not a Christian yet) with the help of the Holy Spirit.  Just like a mirror, a forewarning of something dangerous to come like an explosion from a gas leak, or a good teacher, the law is helpful to us and can lead us to see our sinful nature so we can see our need for our Saviour and how to become more like Christ.  As the Apostle Paul put it in Romans 7:24-25a: "O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I  thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord."
