WELCOME!

Welcome to my blog! I hope to be a resource to help you in your walk with God. Now more than ever we need to get back to the basic fundamentals of moral living and take a stand for what is right and truthful with God as our ultimate authority. His Word is reliable and preserved and can be trusted, so that is the basis for my advice and teaching. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or topics you would like me to cover. I look forward to sharing what God has placed on my heart. See my website at https://www.lovinggodministry.com/ for books and music I have written that will enrich your life!

Ezekiel 22:30: "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none." Let's stand in the gap together!

Liberty and Fish

My pastor tonight at church (Emmanuel Baptist Church in Newington, CT) made a great point. He was talking about how we have liberty through Christ, and yet sometimes we think that means we can do whatever we want. Well, that would be like a fish, who is made to swim in water, feeling like he would like to have the freedom to be out of the water, and onto the beach. So he jumps out of the safety of the water where he was designed to live, and goes on the sand. Was that the best thing for that fish? Of course not. It's destructive. God's laws, instructions and commandments are for our good, and following His will ensures safety and freedom to be who we were meant to be. God is not withholding from us when we live within God's design and instructions; He is blessing us. We are in essence refusing and pushing away His blessings, protection, and best for us when we go our own way in the name of "liberty" and "freedom", denying His plan and instruction from His Word for our lives.

Galatians 5:1: "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage."

Here is an example of some of the instructions God has given us:

Ephesians 4:1-6 King James Version (KJV)
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

God is big enough!

Have you ever felt like you were drowning in your troubles? I know I personally have felt like that. But I am so thankful that even when we can’t see what lies ahead, God does. When we feel too weak or incapable of accomplishing the task before us, God is strong.  When we feel small, we can take comfort that God is big and He goes before us. We don’t need to fear the future or the giants in front of us, because God is big enough to bring victory in our lives and accomplish the tasks through us that need to be done.

This song that I found on the Internet has really given me comfort and I want to share it with you. I hope it will be a blessing to you as you seek God and stay close to Him through the good times and the bad, knowing that His strength is sufficient and His love for you will endure. I challenge you to thank Him as you look to Him for strength, and have faith that He will work all things for your good and His glory when you love him and seek His will.

Romans 8:28 King James Version (KJV)

28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

As an added bonus, this song is sure to be a blessing to you also. It was to me, as it put things in perspective! https://youtu.be/TYSJj-EHAAk

Happy Easter!

I was listening to a song that says, “Heal Us, O Lord, and We Will Be Healed.” As I reflected on that, my conclusion of the matter is the reason why His Word heals is because, and I know this now, He does care about the oppressed. Judgment has been taken care of at the cross. I told God, “That’s what we want. We want to be cared for. This world is hard. Knowing you care makes all the difference in the world. You provide that.” Yes, God is a God of judgment, but He sees us through the blood of Jesus Christ and that’s the glorious news of the cross and the Gospel – that we are forgiven, and this broken world and this broken life is something God empathizes with. And He sees us through the eyes of love and grace. What a wonderful thing to celebrate and to pass on to others, to all the other hurting souls all around us.

Happy Easter - praise the Lord for His resurrection and saving grace!
