WELCOME!

Welcome to my blog! I hope to be a resource to help you in your walk with God. Now more than ever we need to get back to the basic fundamentals of moral living and take a stand for what is right and truthful with God as our ultimate authority. His Word is reliable and preserved and can be trusted, so that is the basis for my advice and teaching. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or topics you would like me to cover. I look forward to sharing what God has placed on my heart. See my website at https://www.lovinggodministry.com/ for books and music I have written that will enrich your life!

Ezekiel 22:30: "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none." Let's stand in the gap together!

What can you do to help the next generation?

Proverbs 7:1-3: "My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart."

It causes my heart to be sorrowful when I see so many people pass by my table at my book signings, and even with just the mention of writing books that are Christian that help build character, they quickly rush off with seemingly no interest. It may be they don't have any children in their lives, but I know it's not always the case because sometimes they have children with them. I notice that parents avoid me more than the older generation, and yet there are definitely exceptions. There are people who stop and thank me for putting out good books to help families and children. Some are very excited to use the books to draw closer to their children as they discuss things such as godly character together.

Children look at me, wave to me and smile and truly cheer me! Some parents quickly gather their children and keep them moving! Ha ha! It's really funny! It's probably because they don't want their children asking to buy something. I've been there! I really try not to take rejection personally, because I know that I typically avoid eye contact with people who are selling something, especially when I'm in a hurry, which most of the people I see are in a hurry. There are actually surprisingly more people than I would expect who are friendly and smile, say "hi" back, and some stop by to chat and even buy a book or two. One mom came by with her daughter to see "a real author!" She was so precious!

One gentleman at my last book signing commented about the Ferguson trial. Police brutality is wrong and inexcusable, but this situation, as sad as it is to see anyone die, was not a result of police brutality. One lesson that this should bring to us all is the importance of teaching our children to have respect for those in authority. Another important life lesson is do not take that which is not yours. Care for your community, don't endanger it with fire and riots. Hang out with the right crowd. Take care of your body. Be a faithful and dependable person. Fear God. Obey the law. Honor your parents. Be honest and trustworthy. These are some examples of things I teach in my book, I Will Stand.  This gentleman bought my I Will Stand book. He was excited to see a book that would help our next generation.

If you don't have any children at home, do you have grandchildren, whom you could go through the book with to teach basic, godly character to make them strong and capable to get through the hard times in life? Have you ever considered doing a neighborhood Bible study? How about teaching Sunday School at your church? What about a family devotion time? This book would be a very helpful tool to get the discussion started.

God bless you this Christmas, and I'd like to challenge you to try to get a group together to go through this book, or the Bible (but my book has a lot of Bible verses in it), or even a similar book, and make a difference in the lives of those you care about. Let's work together to help guide this next poor lost generation into good, pure living to live powerful, enriching lives that lack regret and tragedy. God bless you!

Give the Gift of Character this Christmas!

GIVE THE GIFT OF CHARACTER

I have been at a few fairs and festivals the past couple months. The pictures below are of my two latest book signings; one at Shop Rite in Southington, CT, and the other one at Canton High School for a holiday fair. The Canton fair was really nice, as they had Christmas music playing, and a lot of holiday lights and decorations that people were selling.

I really enjoy doing book signings because I get to meet so many great and interesting people! It's fun to get out in the community and sit and promote something I believe in with all my heart.

My biggest seller is my I Will Stand book. The chapters are quick and easy to get through, and yet powerful in its ability to reach the heart of the reader, and promote a closer personal relationship with God. In going through these chapters, it will build character and coping skills for life. What a great gift to give someone for Christmas!!!

Why not have a spiritual emphasis in your gift giving this year? Christmas is, after all, a celebration of Christ's birthday. His mission was to come and die for our sins so we can be saved from the power of sin and death. What He gave up to come here, so He could gain US! Oh my! Leaving all the riches and splendor of heaven to face poverty, rejection, cruelty, mockery, hate - He knew that was coming when He agreed to come. What love! What a great gift to give to Jesus in return: our heart and devotion.

This book will also bring the family closer if done together. It really opens up discussion easily.

One thing I've noticed as I have spoken with people during my book signings is that the elderly generation have strong faith, and yet they don't feel empowered to help the younger generation, not even their own children or grandchildren.  Some have such sadness in their eyes as they state their children grew up in church but now are atheists or agnostics, and won't hear a thing about religion.

My message to the elderly folks is that WE NEED YOU!!! You have strong faith, but you might not be good enough at defending your faith to convince others to follow Jesus. My upcoming book Fully Persuaded will be a great tool to help you do just that. It's almost done - will post an announcement when it's ready to be ordered.

Want to bless someone with some beautiful, encouraging music? See the link below to order a copy of my new CD, Beauty in Pain.  See the link for my music video, and the link to order the CD, which has some sample songs to listen to. I trust this will be a blessing to you, and makes a great Christmas gift: the gift of encouragement.

God bless you this Christmas and in 2015! Let's work together to get the good news of Jesus Christ to a world that desperately needs hope and a secure future in Christ. God is real, His Word is truth, and we need Him. What a blessing that He loves us right where we are, and if we come humbly with a repentant heart, He will save our wretched souls! That love is the greatest love ever known to mankind, something truly to celebrate this holiday season.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

It will be available on amazon.com, walmart.com, iTunes, bestbuy.com, rhapsody, etc. I am very excited about this album. I really love the songs, and I hope you will be touched by them and enjoy listening to them as well. My music video has been completed and released to You Tube. It's one of the songs on my album called, "Feelings", and states that feelings don't define who you are, nor do they determine what you do. You can overcome your feelings of sexual attraction, anger, poor self image, hatred, envy, etc., with the help of the Lord. Don't let those feelings dictate your course of action, but rather determine to do what is right despite the hormones and emotions you feel inside.Feelings by Dawn Foss Music Video

If you'd like to see more information about the album and hear three other songs from the album, please see Beauty in Pain Electronic Press Kit. I would love to come to your church or group for a book signing, album signing, sing some songs for you, and inspire you to love the Lord and submit your life to Him. It's the best life ever, despite your pain and struggles and circumstances. He will help you to become an overcomer and have victory in your life! Suffering has purpose and beauty of its own. There are two songs, "Run From All Appearance of Evil" and "The Truth of the Matter" that you can listen to! They allow you to hear the entire songs. This will give you a taste of what the album is like. It's a great album to listen to when you are relaxing, or when in the car.

This will make a great Christmas present. There is a Christmas song at the end as well called, "Christmas Love."

Saving Christmas!

http://www.savingchristmas.com/

Kirk Cameron has a movie coming out in theaters (limited engagement, so check listings) on November 14 called, "Saving Christmas." It looks like it's going to be a great movie! Liberty University is supporting this movie, which is great as I'm an alumni of Liberty University so I always love to see their name in the headlines! Duck Dynasty also gave their support, as well as many other organizations. I look forward to seeing it.

On the topic of being proud to celebrate Christmas, I want to remind everyone of my children's book, Christmas Love, that is available.  It was released last December (2013), but I had the pictures redone, so it is available for preorder right now in the new form, but available through distribution (such as amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, etc.) now in its old form. It's a great book that highlights community helpers like doctors, dentists, firemen, nurses, policemen, teachers, soldiers, youth pastors, etc. who share Christ's love to their communities on a daily basis. The book shows from the original Christmas story how Christ's love was shown through all the "players" in this marvelous event in history that changed our lives forever, giving us incredible hope and peace from this forgiving love, grace and mercy of God toward us, yes, undeserving us. It shows you how you can be saved, and has a built-in audio book that has my song, "Christmas Love" at the end. Here are the words to the chorus:

"Christmas love, celebrate Christmas love,
There is no greater love to celebrate!
He came to earth to die,
To bring us life again.
God's mercy to forgive,
Grace conquered all our sin.
He saved us from our tragic fate,
Now THAT'S something to celebrate!"

I have sheet music available for this song (piano and guitar chords), so contact me if you are interested in a copy for $3.00 each (including tax and mailing costs). Kids love to sing this song! It has a catchy tune. I also have magnetic cards with the words to the song on it that can be put on your refrigerator for $2.00 each (including tax and mailing costs).

That song is included as a bonus track on my album that is almost finalized through Tate Music Group called, Beauty in Pain. Contact me at www.dawnfoss.tateauthor.com for more information. It should be available for orders in about a week or two.

The Existence of God IS Known

My Lord and My God
By Dawn Foss

Does my life have any purpose, is their meaning to it all?
I hear so many say there is no God.
When challenged on this point, I don’t know what to say,
I just slip back into the busy crowd.

How can someone prove that which is not seen,
I believe and yet there is a little doubt.
It nags at me and causes my actions to withdraw,
Discouragement is creeping in my heart.

My Lord and my God, I really want to know,
I want to tell the others you are real.
How can I be all you want me to be,
When all these doubts affect the way I feel?
My Lord and my God.

I read in Romans 1 there is something that makes You
Feel wrath and rage for those who suppress truth.
The truth that people hide that makes you so upset
Is the truth that You exist, ignoring proof.

Cause and effect, the fact that we are moral,
The order that exists within our world
Exclaims that there’s a God, there is no other way
This theater we call earth proclaims it’s true!

Our God, He is not hiding, His presence is so clear
That He says we surely know and understand;
His existence is so evident that none will have excuse
To say they didn’t know, because they did!

My Lord and my God, I’m thankful I can know,
And now my heart will evermore rejoice!
Since you are so real, then so is Your Word,
I’ll serve you and proclaim it with my voice!
My Lord and my God.

Just as wind cannot be seen but leaves will rustle,
We see the hand of God by what He does
And things that He has made declare His glory,
I’ll shout and sing forevermore because

My Lord and my God, I’m thankful I can know,
Your goodness and your holiness is real.
I’ll trust in You and now I’ll serve you faithfully,
My heart rejoices, hope is what I feel!
My Lord and my God.

ROMANS 1:18-20
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because
that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.
