Christian Concert March 1, 2015

I am pleased to announce that I will be having another concert, located at Meriden Hills Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon, March 1, 2015 at 1:30 p.m.. The location is 139 Charles Street, Meriden, CT 06450. Contact info is 203-237-0302 for any questions. There will be lunch provided for free at 12 noon prior to the event. Feel free to come to Life Groups at 10:00 a.m. (for all ages), and the worship service at 11:00 a.m. You will be blessed!

The music I will be singing will be from my Beauty in Pain CD. The words to the songs are rich with meaning, and the songs are comforting and beautiful. They will comfort and encourage you, especially the soul that is weary, discouraged, or struggling, whether it be emotionally, physically or spiritually. Bring a friend!

Pictures from Jacob's Well Christian Coffeehouse concert 1-2-15

I had a great time at the Jacob's Well Christian Coffeehouse on January 2, 2015. Jacob's Well Christian Coffeehouse. It was a great way to start out the new year! I sang songs from my Beauty in Pain album, and also one from my Walking in Wisdom album, which will be published in 2015. It was such a joy to meet Drew Crandall, and all the folks that make Jacob's Well Christian Coffeehouse possible. Everyone was so friendly, and truly glowed with love for the Lord and His ministry. They are doing a wonderful work there in Rockville, and it was encouraging to hear that there are other towns that are proclaiming Christ across the state of CT, and making a real impact in the lives of the community. What an honor it was to be there, to have a little part that evening in that great work!

Below are some pictures from that night. The music touched many hearts, and God was honored and glorified. Attack on the Bible by Newsweek

Today I became aware of an article by Newsweek attacking the Bible. This is written by someone who clearly has a poor journalistic sense, as he has partial truths and then lies or has bad information for the rest of his statements. This article is an embarrassment to Newsweek as it's so unsound and so vicious and one sided. Apparently the former editor of Newsweek and even Time were fair, showing both sides of any given story, and treating both sides with respect. Even if conservative Christians were interviewed and not happy with the article, they still felt that they were treated fairly with journalistic integrity.

Here are a couple links to review as an answer to the Newsweek's article. The Fox one is a more general response, but the Albert Mohler one breaks it apart more and shows where they are misleading and inaccurate.

God's Simple Plan of Salvation

Are You Sure about Heaven?

Think carefully on this soul-searching question. If you were to die right now, do you know for sure you would go to heaven? If your answer is anything other than, “Yes, I am absolutely certain that my sins are forgiven and that heaven will be my home,” then here is an important message just for you. The Bible teaches that you need to know and believe these things to settle this.

First, you have sinned against God.

“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

“As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10).

Then God tells us where sin leads.

“Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12).

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

The wonderful news of the Bible is that Jesus loves you and died in your place to pay the penalty for your sin.

“But God commendeth [demonstrated] His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Now, here is what God wants you to do.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” (Romans 10:9).

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

God wants you to believe His Word and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9).

If you will, then right now pray a simple prayer, asking the Lord to save you. (Remember, the exact words of this prayer do not save you, but it is what you believe in your heart as you pray a prayer of repentance to be saved that will save you.)

Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that you came to earth and died on the cross for my sins and that you rose again from the dead and now you live in heaven! I’m sorry for sinning against you. Please forgive me for my sins and come into my heart and save me right now. Thank you for saving me and giving me eternal life. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Congratulations! If you prayed that prayer in faith, believing it with all your heart, then you are saved! You will go to heaven when you die, and starting now, God will help you throughout your entire life. Eternal life starts now! He can be your best friend.
