WELCOME!

Welcome to my blog! I hope to be a resource to help you in your walk with God. Now more than ever we need to get back to the basic fundamentals of moral living and take a stand for what is right and truthful with God as our ultimate authority. His Word is reliable and preserved and can be trusted, so that is the basis for my advice and teaching. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or topics you would like me to cover. I look forward to sharing what God has placed on my heart. See my website at https://www.lovinggodministry.com/ for books and music I have written that will enrich your life!

Ezekiel 22:30: "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none." Let's stand in the gap together!

Super Hero Syndrome

As a nurse, a teacher, a worker in ministry, putting myself out there continually, working through fear, being strong on a regular basis, I have my moments when unfortunately I see my vulnerability and realize that I'm not a super hero after all.  None of us are perfect, and yet we cannot allow "Super Hero Syndrome" to discourage us from pressing on, fighting the good fight of faith, even when met against principalities, powers, workers of darkness, uncooperative people, nay-sayers, financial worries, and our own weaknesses.  Praise the Lord, He does care, and Jesus is the real Super Hero, the healer of broken hearts and lives.  When finding yourself on the ground, just get back up. Don't allow self pity to overcome you.  We tend to be our own worst enemies.

I decided to write a song that reflected my heart during a time of discouragement and oppression.  I hope it's a blessing to you!

Super Hero Syndrome
By Dawn Foss
Verse 1:
She comes home at midnight after having a long shift,
The hospital was busy, lives were saved.
Her little girl left her a love note by her toothbrush,
The house is quiet, ice cream calls her name.

The ones she loves are sleeping in the dark,
She missed out on the party tonight.
She was strong, but now emotional,
This super hero’s weary from the fight.

Chorus:
She’s got Super Hero Syndrome,
Saving all the world,
Putting her own needs and wants aside.
Strong until it hurts,
But no one sees inside,
She’s the one who needs a hero now.
She’s got Super Hero Syndrome.

Verse 2:
He bravely faced the streets to keep his town secure and safe,
While dangers lurked around at every bend.
He had to be on guard, and think so critically,
Calming down a battered family friend.

He comes home and kisses his son’s face,
As the moonlight shines so brightly in his room.
Sitting on his bed in quiet peace,
So thankful that he made it safely made it home.

Chorus:
He’s got Super Hero Syndrome,
Saving all the world,
Putting his own needs and wants aside.
Strong until it hurts,
But no one sees inside,
He’s the one who needs a hero now.
He’s got Super Hero Syndrome.

Verse 3:
They work hard at the church, as they labor side by side,
Caring for the needs of everyone.
Problems held inside for confidentiality,
Encouraging, advising, staying strong.

Their own needs put aside, they live to serve,
Standing for what’s right, misunderstood.
Limited to whom they can unwind,
Wondering if they’ve done all that they could.

Chorus:
They’ve got Super Hero Syndrome,
Saving all the world,
Putting their own needs and wants aside.
Strong until it hurts,
But no one sees inside,
They’re the ones who need a hero now.
They’ve got Super Hero Syndrome.

Bridge:
When people sacrifice and fight the battle,
The devil will discourage and oppress.
The higher the role, the harder the fall,
The greater the chance for emptiness.

Chorus:
Do you have Super Hero Syndrome,
Saving all the world,
Putting your own needs and wants aside.
Strong until it hurts,
But no one sees inside,
You’re the one who needs a hero now.
Jesus is the Hero, just allow
Him to heal your Super Hero Syndrome.
